Barcelona to Sant Cugat del Valles (HP) over Matamachos
GPX FILE (ref only; I don't have a gps!)
Difficulty: Moderate to Hard
Terrain: Gravel roads and paths and road.
Time: approx 1:30 hours
Distance: approx 16.2km (one-way)
Max Delta Elevation: 100-340 = 240 meters
This is the path that will get you from Barcelona to Sant Cugat and even to HP. Most of the ride is on forest trails with some access by cars. The hardest part is called Matamachos and is soon after the climb to the top of the first hill. The rest is downhill after that point so it isn't too bad.
Barcelona to St. Cugat via St. Medir
GPX FILE (ref only; I don't have a gps!)
Difficulty: Moderate to Hard
Terrain: Gravel roads and paths and road.
Time: approx 1:20 hours
Distance: approx 13.8km (one-way)
Max Delta Elevation: 200-439 = 239 meters
This is the path that will get you from Barcelona to Sant Cugat. You will ride on a lot of paved road most of which does not have a lot of traffic. Be careful on BV-1417, that's the road you hit right after the trail ride of Carreterra de Aigues. Also, be careful on the single lane road around the turns! The rest is easy and down hill. If you really want a nice steep up hill try this route in the reverse direction. If you would rather take a trail that has more rocks and less road look at

Thanks for checking out this site. I will be trying to post somes route that I have done and the level of difficulty. I don't have GPS so I can be too sure about the accuracy of the routes. Maybe if people really find this site helpful, I'll purchase one. For now I have a bunch of paper maps that I am working from, along with the GPS track of some of my riding buddies. Please feel free to contact be by e-mail at mr.neel@gmail.com.
